Bio
I love Substack. Unfortunately, they don't allow you to write more than 250 characters in your Bio information. And no matter how many times I tried to edit my Bio info; I could never get it down to just 250 characters. What I originally wanted to write my wife told me was too long. I compromised. I'm writing here more than the 250 characters that Substack limits you to, and less than the 25,000 characters that I initially intended to write.
I was born. That's what my mom told me. I really don't recall. She still maintains, even after all these years that my dad - the jerk - is really my father. He was not cuckold.
I'm very introverted. Since I started writing I've been trying to improve my human condition. Trying to be more gregarious and extroverted. I've been trying for a long time.
I like music, playing chess, reading, writing, basketball, movies, sitcoms, eating out, Substack. And applauding loudly, the silence.
I am trying to accomplish one productive task each day. I usually fail at that. Writing bails me out. I feel as long as I'm productive in writing a story, I've accomplished something.
I'm trying to take my brother’s advice. Rather than applaud others, learn to take the bows yourself. Rather than watching others perform … you take center stage. It hasn't been working out that well. I'm getting booed a lot.
Have three daughters and one son. All grown-ups.
To sum it all up, I've been very diligent and hardworking at procrastination. Trying to change.
I have finished some books. Go to Amazon.com and type in The Christmas Tree by John Saccone. The books will magically appear with free samples. However, ... no wine samples. And remember to drink responsibly. Not a good idea, for instance, to swim out to the middle of the sea, and lying on your back - while looking at the stars - and just drift, while a glass is precariously perched on top of your chest, and you have a wine bottle in your hand. It is very difficult to swim back. Especially since you can't let go of the wine bottle.
Remember ... drink responsibly. And keep the bottle corked. Regrettably, sea water and wine don't mix well. And keep an eye on the cork. Don't let it float on the water. It's a real bummer when you're battling a fish - it was trying to swallow the cork, it thought it was food - and the dumb fish is winning the fight.
What's the problem? Not enough fishermen in Tuscany? The Riviera degli Etruschi is packed with fish. Why are there so many damn fish?
This is the first of my Bio series. Bio’s 2 - 50 will come out every week respectively. Looking forward to letting you get to know me better. And as an added bonus my wife Emma and I will evaluate the different wineries in Tuscany, Rioja, Mendocino, Napa, Sonoma, and Santorini.
Come along with us on this enchanting, wonderful roller coaster ride, where the only way to get off is to jump.
Remember … always drink responsibly and save a cup or two for me. Ciao.
Emma: “Arrivederci. Buona fortuna.”
